Evaluation/Consultation

A thorough assessment is provided during the first encounter. Evidence based, standardized tools are used to objectively guide practice and together goals are set and agreed upon. A full write up of the evaluation will be sent via email to the parents and referring provider (other providers upon request) once plan of care is agreed upon. Re-Evaluation will occur every 3 months for children under 3 years and every 6 months for older children.

Success of therapy is based upon the follow through of recommendations of daily exercises needed to be completed at home by child/parent duo. Exercises are guided and provided to families during after each session verbally and sometimes via email or on paper. Progress typically happens quickly when we all work together.

Standardized tools may include:

  • General Movement Assessment

  • Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination

  • Peabody Developmental Motor Scales-2

  • Alberta Infant Motor Scale

  • Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2

  • Developmental Assessment of Young Children-2

  • m-Trigger biofeedback
